We need time...

Dear KFAST students,

Regarding to the very short laps of time in which we have to prepare, write and submit our training reports as well as our research papers, and after talking to most of the students of the English Department (4th semester) I suggest that we send a collective request via email to ask for an additional week before sending back our works ( Training report and monograph), and this to guarantee a better quality of work in a better conditions that will certainly reflect the brilliant image of the English Department students as they always have been.

I totally agree with your idea Aziz.. we all know what we are going through lately. It's just that you (or whoever writes the letter) better focus on the research paper and just leave the repport alone cyclops

.. The date of submitting the report is June 3rd, for the paper they set it on June 9th.. Well, it would be good if they postpone it until June 16th ? that would add a week.. yea?

What shall we do? What about contacting the administration. It's practically impossible to hand over that f*** research paper s on June 9th. Otherwise we gonna use the cut and paste strategy that may lead to a drama or a massacre before the end of this year. We gotta act guys!!!

Dear Classmates,

i have been checking this forum for along time, waiting for a chance to contribute. I guess this is the right time.
I add my voice to my fellow translators concerning posponing the deadline for submitting the report+memoire. It is a plausible realistic and a necessary step that we should struggle for. I wonder were were you all when i took the microphone during the meeting with Mr Director to raised the question of postponing the deadline. NO BODY SUPPORTED MY SUGGESTION IN THAT MEETING. two days later, when i was in in the classroom with abdelghani, we were told that the delay in submitting the researchpapers and the reports would lead to the disruption of the system and that teachers have to enjoy their holidays...

The problem is that our whole generation is being considerede as a test for the new system which in a way proved some inadequacies with the academic and proffesional training of a translator. we are asked to do a research paper with an arduous theoritical part + an internship report+glossaire+ the chores of internship itself + traveling + renting+++...the least we can say abt this multiplicity of tasks combined is that they are unpedagogical or even inhuman.

How can we do a theoretical part according to the innovative vision of the english department when we don't even have access to libraries ??? most of us are away from the school library where we can get some theoretical books if available? so should we leave our internship and go to look for references elsewhere? some may say that we should have conducted our monographs before May!! but do they know that during the 4th semester we had other exams and and time consuming assignements
in brief, the situation is alarming for most of our fellow students who struggled for 4 semesters in the harshest of conditions. the research paper should be the best culmination of this two years in our prestigious school. That is why there is an urgent need to postpone the deadline so as to ensure a good quality of research papers. we are the first generation to undergo the newsystem this entails that there should be some degrees of flexibility which allows the extention of the deadline for submitting reports and researchpapers.

there must be a way out. we have to work day and night translate in the office then read references in the buss eat outside when u go to the bathroom ou take your monograph with you when you are walking you summerize some notes and when you feel like sleeping you start a glossary...this is beyond our reach. at least the research paper should be postponed. i think that the report is not as complicated as the researchpaper. we can hand the report in right time. and when we meet in tangier in the 3rd of may we can ask for more time to refine our research papers in the best conditions. I don't know if this sounds appropriate. we are crushed Shocked

Dear Lord,
I have done what you have asked me in ur last e-mail. I have sent Williams an email asking him to consider delaying the submission date one additional week. I stated a number of convincing reasons, though personal. I think everyone should do the same. If he got an email from every student in the class, I'm sure it's much better if one of us sent him one letter.
So, I implore you guys write all of you to him, stating your best defense for our just demands.

I would like to inform you that we are given multiple time-consuming tasks to do in our trainings as we work for full-time in the host center , dded to the training report and the theoretical part of the research paper which we are writing away from the library and given that we are supposed to submit our training reportson JUNE 3rd. I would like to ask you if you could please be generous ,as you always have been, and accept to postpone the deadline for handing over our research papers for just one week so that we can present a good quality work that reflects the true image of the English Department students.
It is noteworthy that the majority of the students have not finished their monographs, some of them even don't find written material to help them write something, others even just have finished translating.
I will be grateful to you.
